Course Objective

This theory and practical training certificate is designed to teach the fundamental techniques for delivering a variety of skincare services. A focus on the 5 layers of the epidermis is covered.

 

We will focus on the correct machinery and skincare products to deliver a professional service to a variety of skin demographics namely; combination skin, teen skin irregularities, mature skin, dehydrated skin and male skin.

 

The course will cover the following:

  • The history and science of skincare

  • Professional image

  • Sanitation, disinfection and sterilization

  • Indications and contra-indications

  • Equipment modalities

  • Client medical history and release forms

  • Facial protocols and various application techniques

  • Cosmetic product knowledge

  • A variety of facial massage techniques

  • Protocols for back facials

  • How to deliver customized facials

  • SOAP charting

  • A variety of cosmetic product lines

 

Course Length: 40 hours (materials incl.)

  • Use of current devices and technologies

  • Skin types and conditions such as dry, oily/congested, acne-prone, sensitive, hypersensitive, and hyperpigmentation

  • Client consultation and service preparation

  • Indications and contraindications

  • Skin nutrition

  • Review of step-by-step facial service 

  • Practical facial massage and cleansing techniques

  • Use of equipment modalities including proper handling and usage of high frequency, galvanic, vacuum, ultrasonic

  • Practical extraction techniques

  • Understanding cosmetic chemistry and active ingredients

  • Soap charting and homecare

  • Client retention strategies

  • Pricing of services, packages, marketing, and branding
