Chemical Peels & Mechanical Exfoliation

Course Objective

This course is designed to advance the therapist’s options of exfoliating a variety of skin conditions. We will focus on microdermabrasion equipment and will work with Image Couture designer chemical peels, as well as discuss, a variety of other equipment and peel lines.

 

Prerequisite: Skin Care

 

The training will cover the following:

  • Skin anatomy and physiology

  • Indications and contra-indications

  • Wound healing process

  • Identify Fitzpatrick skin-typing scale

  • Client consultation and release forms

  • Indications and contraindications

  • Treatment protocols and application

  • Pre and post care

  • Microdermabrasion techniques

  • Introduction to various types of chemical peels

  • Chemical peels techniques

  • Client charting

  • Describe how these procedures can be combined with other services

  • Cosmetic chemistry and skincare ingredients

  • Wound healing process

  • Client consultation and contraindications

  • Treatment plan including pre-treatment, protocol, techniques, post-treatment

  • Combine chemical peels with other services

  • Pricing, marketing, and branding

  • Demonstration and hands-on practical training

  • Charting and post-care instructions
