Course Objective

This comprehensive certificate course is designed to teach a RN, RPN, NP or a Medical Doctor the variety of applications techniques for injectables, to enhance their earnings.

 

The medispa industry is growing at a fast pace, as consumers are looking for non-surgical treatments to improve their fine lines and wrinkles. Neuromodulators are the answer, for most anti-aging concerns.

 

Our focus is for you to learn indications and contra-indications of neurotoxins and the proper procedural applications.

The following topics will be discussed & implemented:

  • Introduction to Botox cosmetic

  • Introduction to a variety of current products

  • Indications and contra-indications

  • Completion of waiver forms

  • Client consultation and pre-post recommendations

  • How to prepare for the application

  • How to work with a medical director

  • Guidance towards agreements and contracts

 

Prerequisite: Current Canadian Licensed Medical Professional

 

Course Length: 8 hours (small class size)

Didactic & Clinic Application

Theory lecture includes:

  • Introduction to medical aesthetic industry

  • Understanding the acts, regulations, guidelines

  • Facial and neck anatomy

  • Discuss the history, safety, and reconstitution of Botox

  • Discuss the indications, risks and benefits of Botox for both upper and lower face

  • Different injection techniques and safety issues

  • Discuss management and treatment of complications

  • Discuss client options for pain management

  • Medical safety kit checklist

  • Aseptic technique

  • Before-and-after photo guidance

  • Practical clinic includes:

  • Demonstrate patient consultation and waiver forms

Patient selection criteria and proper SOAP charting

  • Indications and contraindications

  • Botulinum toxin reconstitution techniques

  • Demonstrate botulinum toxin technique and injection on

    • Glabellar frown lines

    • Forehead lines

    • Periorbital rhytid

    • Brow lift

Our focus is for you to learn indications and contra-indications of numerous Dermal Fillers and the proper procedural application techniques.

  • Introduction to dermal fillers

  • Introduction to a variety of products

  • Indications and contra-indications

  • Client consultation and pre-post recommendations

  • How to prepare for the application

  • How to work with a medical director

  • Guidance towards agreements and contracts and pricing

  • Injection on

    • Marionette Lines

    • Lip augmentation

    • Nasolabial Folds

    • Cheek re-volumization

Coaching and Mentoring Program

On going on-site mentoring and practical application by our in-house nurse injector provided, as may be required, for additional fees. Conditions apply and clarification is available through our Admissions Department.
